7,8,9,10,A will lead to a loss which is approximately 7/13 times. ![]() If I do the probability when standing on a 16. That'd give me a loss of 50k, and I estimate roughly 7.8% of the time there will be an ace leading to losing my whole bet to a balckjack which makes the loss 3.4k (because I've surrendered, I'm losing out on half bets) worse. What's even more confusing is that this is worse than surrendering my bet. I ran though 100000 sample hands multiple times and throughout I get a cumulative loss of 56k give or take, but by splitting I get a cumulative loss of around 60k (assuming each bet is just 1 unit). ![]() ![]() I've been building my own simulation of blackjack in python and heard that you should split 8's against a dealer 10, but this seemed unintuitive to me.
